MEET DR. KIM SCOTT
Teen Focus Inc Founder | CEO | President
Dr. Kim Scott is a California native with extensive experience as an educational counselor, school administrator, non-profit founder, and author. Dr. Scott holds a Doctor of Education in Counseling Psychology, a Master of Arts in Educational Counseling, and a Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Science. She holds several certifications, including a Clear Pupil Personnel Services Counseling (PPS), an Administrative Services Credential for the state of California, and Addiction and Substance Abuse Certifications, including CADC / CAS.
Currently, Dr. Scott serves as the Founder and Executive Director of Teen Focus, a personal development program. Students in Teen Focus develop their social-emotional and restorative practice skills by working with individuals and group counseling sessions to address challenging topics they experience. In addition to her work with Teen Focus, Dr. Scott serves as an educational consultant and works with charter, non-charter, and private schools, enrichment programs, and non-profits to evaluate, create, and implement improvements and enhancements.
Previously, Dr. Scott served as a school administrator, middle school counselor, and high school guidance counselor. Her work as a guidance counselor and K-12 county administrator inspired her work at Teen Focus. In her prior roles, she partnered with families and student support teams to increase attendance rates and coordinate academic and behavioral interventions to meet students’ individual learning needs.
With a focus on personal development and social-emotional learning, Dr. Scott works to ensure students receive the support and opportunities to develop skills that will build personal and academic success. Dr. Scott believes that all students have unique learning needs, and can reach their full potential when intrinsically motivated to do so. This intrinsic motivation can be revealed when students receive the support to build positive relationships with others and
understand their strengths and needs.

With her experience in life coaching, school leadership, and non-profit leadership, Dr. Scott has the expertise to lead and support a variety of organizations that serve disadvantaged youth.
